The excitement of a new puppy is similar to the birth of a child. My St. Bernard pup was born in May 2005 and I brought her home July 1, 2005.
On Labor Day weekend she woke up and would not eat or drink anything. I took her outside to go the bathroom and she had projectile diarrhea. I was frantic!
Being a veteran dog owner for my entire life (57 years). I went immediately to rice, cottage cheese, and boiled chicken. This diarrhea continued all weekend and I took her to the vets. She had lab work done and was put on Prescription Dog Food. There were continuous vet appointments, Imodium AD and still another prescription dog food to no avail. The Vet expenses average approximately 350 to 400 per month.
Finally, in March I could not take I any longer…. I feared she was dying. The vet assured me she wasn’t but probably need to stay on prescription food and meds forever. My sister had two large healthy dogs and suggested I try her dog food Regal. After a vet appointment at the end of March where she lost 1.5 pounds, I was frantic and desperate. I called my sister and changed gradually to Regal Dog Food. Her diarrhea stopped, she tolerated the Regal Dog Food and my dull tan St. Bernard started to get patches of dark brown shinny fur. The improvement continued to her coat; she is muscular and weights over 100 lbs. Lily is active and healthy due to this miracle food. Her teeth are white and eyes are bright. She is a new dog and I am eternally grateful to Regal Dog Food. Lily is off all medications and I owe it to Regal for saving my beloved dog.
